This wine is made by the grandson of Lulu and Lucien Peyraud of the famed Domaine Tempier in Bandol. The grandson Xavier and his wife farm 20 acres of Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The couple handles every aspect of viticulture and winemaking from vine to bottle. They work manually in the vineyards and never used pesticides or herbicides. And they view plowing as a vital part of their commitment to natural viticulture. All of their wines are bottled unfiltered to capture the intense fruit and garrigue aromas that the terroir has to offer. This featured red is rich, round and long. The fruit makes one think of Grenache and Syrah (terroir is important) with blueberry and pepper in the nose. Made of 70% Merlot and 30% Grenache, it shows vibrant acidity, complexity, and depth.
