Refreshing elegance and rich texture, this traditional method sparkler from Luxembourg definitely over delivers for the price. A blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Blanc, this bubbly begins with pleasant aromas of baked lemon pie, yellow apple and pear. The palate has crisp acidity balanced with a fine mousse mouth-feel laced with notes of nuts and dried apricot. Bernard-Massard was established in Luxembourg in 1921 by Jean Bernard-Massard. Today it is one of the main producers of sparkling wine in the country. There are few wines from Luxembourg that are exported. Luxembourg borders France, Belgium, and Germany along the Moselle Valley. The region’s wine production is dominated by sparkling and dry white wines, and is most similar in style to wines from Alsace and Mosel. We suggest pairing this bubbling beauty with sushi and light tapas.
